BEST stands for Boosting Engineering, Science, and Technology. BEST Robotics, Inc. is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization whose headquarters is located at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.

Every Fall BEST creates and sponsors a middle and high school robotics competition whose mission is to engage and excite students across the country about engineering, science, and technology as well as inspire them to pursue careers in these fields. Through their participation in BEST robotics, students develop an understanding of the practical use of math concepts and applied physics. They are able to practice skills of solving real-world science and engineering problems. They gain training that is transferable to all academic disciplines and career pursuits. Many develop an increased interest in engineering, math, and science. They begin to better understand what engineers do and how to apply the engineering process. BEST participants are challenged to expand skills in abstract thinking, self-directed learning, teamwork, project management, decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership. It is these skills that industry seeks in its workforce and BEST has discovered a creative way of developing these traits and skills in a way that is encouraging, motivating and inspiring to students.

Southside Middle School LOVES BEST robotics and is grateful for the opportunity to participate each year!
